We continue to fundraise throughout 2018. The first of our events was the popular car washing. Which we hold every Saturday in May. This is well supported by relatives and the local community. Our mascot T Towell always makes an appearance at the car washes.
Our extremely popular fun day was held again in June; this was our biggest so far, in line with celebrating our 60th Anniversary. There were lots of fun and activities suitable for all ages. We had face painters, stalls including crafts, cakes and plants, BBQ, catch -a-duck, bouncy castles, music, small furry animals and birds of prey. We even had Moana, The Black Knight, Bat Man, along with Power Rangers make an appearance. They were very popular with young and old. The local fire brigade also paid us a visit and allowed children to climb up on board the fire engine.
The fun day has grown both in size and attendance and we are always trying to change it every year to make each year different.
We held Music in the Garden in August, whilst it wasn’t a fundraiser we still had some donations. We had live music from the Legends program with singer Aaron Paul. This included songs from Garth Brooks, Elvis, Neil Diamond and Roy Orbison to name but a few. We decided to bring out the garden games again for families to enjoy as this proved so popular on the fun day.
We are holding a Gala Ball in October in which there will be ballots and an auction. The evening entertainment is from The Motown Sensations and Barney’s Startrax disco. This promises to be a great evening.
Bag packing has also become a standard now and we hope to carry this out in December in one of our local supermarkets.
We also have a very large coke bottle placed at the lift beside reception, all loose change is very gratefully accepted. “Small Change to make Change”
All funds raised go to the Resident’s Comfort fund.
We would like to thank all staff, relatives and friends involved in our fundraising efforts, as without your help and support we cannot succeed.
